Throughout the past two years, Holy Cross has been a big part of helping with the Habitat home builds in Fremont, CA. The first phase is now complete which includes the home built by area churches like Holy Cross - the "All Faiths House". In January 2019 a ceremony was held in which the first homes were handed to the eager families.
There were eleven families who were given their key, a book of faith and a sweat equity hammer at the dedication ceremony for Phase 1 of the
Habitat For Humanity Central Commons town homes. The All Faiths House recipient was the Pradhan family (originally from
Nepal). They had been renting a two bedroom apartment with six people in their family-- the grandparents, the parents , a son and a daughter with special needs. They were so happy to have their own home! It was custom-built for someone with a disability.
Here are pictures of the joyous event!
