Holy Cross Lutheran Church

Please join us at 9:30am on Saturday, February 4th, to begin planning for the 10th Czech Youth English Camp to be held July 9-15 this year.  Learn about this special ministry opportunity even if it's only a maybe idea for you.  Teens and adults participate with significant financial help from donations to Short-term Missions and fund-raisers sponsored by the Missions Committee.  We serve with partners from Shepherd of the Valley and the great team in the Czech Republic.  Fellowship, music, friendships, witnessing all fill this amazing week of growth and service among the Lord's young people.  Questions?  Contact the church office.  See you on the 29th for lunch and starting to plan for the mission trip.

Sat. Feb. 25^th “Healthy Relationships” Seminar—Sign Up by Feb 12.

Join us for an engaging, exciting seminar understanding and dealing with relationships with your family, friends, co-workers and with the Lord!  Guest facilitators are Dalton and Vicki Jantzen of 30-60-100 Ministries.  The seminar will be held in the Holy Cross Celebration Center.  Continental breakfast and lunch as well as childcare will be provided.  The cost for the workshop materials is $35 per participant (make checks to 30-60-100 Ministries and place in the President box in the church office).  Participants who wish to do the recommended personal assessment survey must submit an email address with their sign-up (by the Feb 12 deadline) on the sign-up board in the office.  Contact Kathy Spenhoff (257-4851; k_spenhoff@yahoo.com) for more info. Mmmm--Good!—Lenten Soup Suppers;  Enjoy hearty homemade soups and all the fixings with your Holy Cross friends and family! The suppers will be held on Wednesdays February 22, 29, March 7, 14, 21, & 28 at 5:45 PM-- just before the 6:30 PM Lenten worship services. Take a night off from cooking and doing dishes—join us and bring a friend!

“As our float cruised down Colorado Blvd. at a clip of 5 miles per hour, crowds of people were standing and cheering. It was an inspiring, unbelievable, awesome experience to see people clapping, raising their hands to the sky, giving the thumbs up sign and pointing their finger upward to express their faith in Jesus.

The song “I Can Only Imagine” played from our float’s speakers. Thousands of people lifted up their voices and sang with us the words: “Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still? Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing ‘Hallelujah!’? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine! I can only imagine!” (We can only imagine what Heaven will be like)        

Blocks and blocks of “choirs” putting their hands over their hearts were praising the Savior as our float went by. The many cultures of young and old viewing the parade on the street, on top of buildings, houses and motor homes lifted their voices to give worship and thanks to Jesus. It was truly a humbling and exciting experience.”
