FAITH LEGACY - PASSING ON FAITH TO THE NEXT GENERATION
During the autumn of 2011 Holy Cross has led several age-oriented small groups of families with young children in a special “Faith Legacy” series. The parents learned how to share their faith and pass on their faith legacy in a meaningful way to their children. We had sessions for parents of children ages birth through ten years old. Several families from our Holy Cross Children’s Center participated with our member families. At the conclusion of the three-part series, the parents presented their children with personal words of blessing and a blessing gift at a special Faith Legacy blessing ceremony during Sunday worship , including the blessings of the congregation in continuing to pass on that legacy of faith among our Holy Cross families and our community.

The School Age Day Care Program is held on the grounds of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The program makes use of the Good News Building classrooms for indoor activities and the playground area for outdoor fun. The area where the children play is sealed off by gates while the children are at the daycare. You are always invited to come and see us!

Safe, Reliable Transportation
The children are taken to and from school in either our 15-passenger or 17-passenger Youth Bus. Both vehicles are licensed and inspected by the California Highway Patrol. Our drivers have Class B driver's licenses and youth bus certificates, undergo a physical every two years and must submit to a written examination and behind-the-wheel driving test. In addition, the drivers must also possess a CPR and first aid certification. Each day the drivers are required to sign in and inspect the vehicles before transporting children. The vehicles are equipped with seatbelts for the passengers and the drivers.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Raising Children of Faith
Holy Cross provides a vibrant learning environment for children ranging from two years to 8th grade. Each Sunday the program mixes singing, a daily lesson and arts and crafts to help children learn of Jesus' tremendous love for them.
Classes start at 9:45 a.m. - right after the conclusion of the first service - and end at 10:45 a.m. in time for the 11:00 service. Two-year-olds meet in the Nursery, preschoolers through 5th grade meet in the Good News Building, and 6th through 8th graders meet in the Jr. High Room in the Celebration Center.
We are using a curriculum entitled "Growing in Christ." The two-year-old nursery class is a parents and toddler class that promotes family worship and faith building at the earliest level and enriches family dynamics. The elementary grade levels works with puppetry as well as basic fundamentals of catechism, prayer, creeds, law & gospel, and historical backgrounds. The morning is rounded out with music, crafts and snacks in addition to the weekly lesson and Scripture verses. Parents are always welcome to come in and visit their child's classroom and to volunteer with crafts and hands-on activities.
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me" and in that spirit we welcome all children whether members or not. Children are the future and there is no greater blessing than to teach them the love of Jesus Christ.
For more information and to download a registration form, please go to the "Info Center" tab at the top of our Home Page and select "Sunday School".
